China supplies data to WHO about clusters of respiratory illness

23 Nov 2023. Chinese health authorities have provided the requested data on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children, and have not detected any unusual or novel pathogens, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

Domestic pig farmers effort to prevent spread of African swine fever in Vietnam

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development directed the veterinary force to closely monitor the development of ASF, proactively instruct farmers to increase regular monitoring of the health of pig herds and application of biosecurity measures in farming, hygiene and disinfection measures with lime powder and chemicals in livestock areas.

70 percent of human monkeypox cases involved in homosexuality

18 Nov 2023. From mid-September until now, Ho Chi Minh City has recorded 63 monkeypox (Mpox) cases. The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) on November 18 said that all cases were homosexuality among gay men.

Occurrence of disease at same time likely to cause overlappingepidemics

7 Nov 2023. People are more likely to get sick when the weather changes. The
occurrence of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, chickenpox, pink
eye, respiratory diseases, and influenza at the same time is causing the risk of
overlapping epidemics. Worse, these diseases also tend to increase in the
number of cases due to the impact of the weather changes.

Cambodia becomes COVID-free

31 Oct 2023. Cambodia has become a state of COVID-zero after the last patient recovered, according to a health ministry’s statement. The country reported no new cases of COVID-19 for 31 days straight, the statement said, adding that since the pandemic began in January 2020, the southeast Asian nation has logged a total of 136,262 confirmed cases with 133,206 recoveries and 3,056 deaths.
